Package Overview
A village at the far end of the Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh, the village of Tosh is situated at a height of 7874 feet above sea-level. A four-hour bumpy ride from Bhuntar in a local bus leads one to Bharsheni which is the last stop on the bus route to the Parvati valley. Tosh is located a further three kilometers uphill from Bharsheni. To reach Tosh there is an option of takking a taxi which is a half an hour journey or to walk to the village via steps located opposite a Shiva temple. The walk takes 90 minutes along a winding road that is easy to walk along. To enter the village one has to walk over a wooden bridge.

Tour Itinerary
Day 01 - Arrival in Kasol - Manikaran
Today you will arrive in Manikaran or Kasol, both of which are located in the Kullu district. On reaching here, head towards your lodging and stay overnight. Spread out along the banks of River Parvati, Kasol, at an elevation of 1640 metres, is a beautiful village in Himachal Pradesh. With its scenic valleys, emerald ranges and moderate climate, it has turned into a prominent destination for backpackers. At a distance of about 5 km from here, there is another spectacular village called Manikaran. It is an important pilgrimage centre for both Sikhs and Hindus. Temple of Lord Shiva and Lord Rama are some of the divine places you can include in your Tosh Valley trekking tour.
Day 02 - Jeep Ride to Tosh Village (2400 metres) | Trekk from Tosh Village to Buddhaban (3020 metres)
Freshen up in the morning and get ready for a Jeep ride from Kasol/Manikaran to Tosh. From Manikaran, the ascent through steep mountainous roads will take you to the village of Barsheni. After an hour-long drive, begin your Tosh Valley trekking expedition by walking uphill from Tosh. This hill offers a panoramic view of the Parvati Valley Dam along with a picturesque confluence of the Tosh and Parvati rivers. After a gradual climb, follow the Tosh River, which meanders through pine forests till you reach Buddhaban. As you reach Buddhaban, enjoy the scenic surroundings of the beautiful springs and gigantic rocks. Afterwards, proceed towards your lodging and stay overnight.
Day 03 - Buddhaban - Sharam Thach (3505 metres) Duration: 7 hours
Wake up in the morning and get freshened to begin your further ascent on Tosh Valley trek. Today, the trek will begin with an ascent from Buddhaban, followed by a meandering trail through the scenic tree line. Continue walking through the carpeted landscape of meadows and rhododendrons till you reach Sharam Thach. On reaching here, step ahead to your lodgings and stay overnight.
Day 04 - Sharam Thach - Shamshi Thach (3800 metres) Duration: 5 hours
After a peaceful night stay at Sharam Thach, get ready in the morning to begin your Tosh Valley trekking tour. Begin with a steep climb on a slender path, which is a beautiful patch of snow-covered land. It seems to be a bit challenging but once it gets over, the remaining trail is easy. Trek through the noisy course of the Tosh River followed by a short descent. After walking down through the trail, you will reach Shamshi Thach, which is perfectly nestled in the heart of the beautiful valley. The mesmerizing sceneries of the Tosh Glacier in the north and Kullu Makalu Peak with the descending glacier in the east are sure to captivate you. After reveling in the tranquil environs of this place, step back to your lodging for overnight stay.
Day 05 - Exploratory Day at Shamshi Thach Duration: 5 hours
Freshen up in the morning and get ready for a fabulous day of sightseeing during the Tosh Valley trek. You can start from the Animal Pass (4560 meters), which offers beholding sights of snow clad mountains and blue waters. Ascend a bit further, and you can spot the breathtaking peaks of Papsura, Dharamsura and Devachan. If you go a little further, you can also capture the mesmerizing views of the Deo Tibba Range. You can also opt for hiking up to the nose of Tosh Glacier, which is about 4300 meters above mean sea level. Surrounded by the White Sail and Papsura peaks, this glacier is the source of water for the Tosh River. After exploring Shamshi Thach, you can return back to your lodging for overnight stay.
Day 06 - Shamshi Thach - Buddhaban Duration: 5 hours
Get ready in the morning and pack your bags as you have to leave for Buddhaban. The trek comprises a short path past the Tosh village and a gradual descent that will lead you to Buddhaban. On arriving here, head towards your lodging and enjoy a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 07 - Buddhaban - Barsheni Duration: 4 hours
Be ready with your bags as today is the last day of your Tosh Valley trekking. On this day, you will trek back to Barsheni village, and on your arrival in Barsheni, this exciting tour will come to an end.
Day 01 - Kathgodam - Loharjung
After you arrive in Kathgodam, proceed towards Loharjung via bus or taxi. From Kathgodam, you will travel through the scenic hilly routes in order to reach your destination. On arriving in this little village, find your lodging and rest for the day.
Day 02 - Loharjung - Didna Village
Your Roopkund trek begins near the bus stand of the town. You start climbing from an altitude of 10500 feet and walk through a picturesque forest comprising Himalayan cedar and oak trees. After an easy walk for about 2.5 hours, you will reach the spot called Ruan Bagad, where you cross an old bridge across the Neel Ganga River. Alternatively, you can also take the road through wan village, and on the way along this route, you pass by the village of Kulling. From here, the steepness of the trail towards Ruan Bagad increases, which continues till you reach Didna. The hike from Ruan Bagad to Didna village, despite its tough terrain, takes only about 1.5 hours.
Day 03 - Didna Village - Ali Bugyal
Continue Roopkund trekking after waking up early in the morning and climbing to Ali Bugyal. There are two routes that you can take to reach your destination. You can either climb the mountains directly or take a detour and continue through Tolpani. The first route is difficult due to the high gradient of the climb while the other one can take two hours more than the former. Whichever way you choose, you should try to reach Ali Bugyal by noon to behold the enchanting views from up there.
Day 04 - Ali Bugyal - Ghora Lotani
This day, your Roopkund trekking package will take you from the beautiful meadow to the breathtaking site of Ghora Lotani. The way to it is not steep at all, and you walk on a well-marked path built of stones. At such a height, short grass is all you see as the tree line ends at Ali Bugyal itself. Also, while you are trekking along the path, the clouds may often be near the surface and almost touching your face, making the atmosphere mystical.
Day 05 - Ghora Lotani - Bhagwabasa
The ensuing stage of this Roopkund trek is relatively tougher because of the considerable gain in altitude. As you will enter an area of high elevation, you will need to take all necessary precautions to avoid altitude sickness. Hiking up a zigzag path, you reach the temple of Kalu Vinayak, which houses an idol of Lord Ganesha. The temple is constructed by arranging irregular pebbles and bricks atop each other. You may stop here and pray to the deity for good luck before hiking further. After reaching Bhagwabasa, rest for the night at the provided spot.
Day 06 - Bhagwabasa - Roopkund| Roopkund - Bhagwabasa
To continue with the Roopkund trekking, wake up at 5 am to reach Roopkund before the rising sun melts the snow and makes the path slushy. After hiking for about 3.5 hours, you reach the destination. If the weather permits, you may climb higher up to Junargali Pass as the ascent is quite short and takes only about half-an-hour. Post seeing the mystical skeletons and exploring the site, retrace your path and return to Bhagwabasa.
Day 07 - Bhagwabasa - Loharjung via Bedini Bugyal and Wan
This day, make your way back to Loharjung as a part of your, passing by Bedini Bugyal and Wan village. You may click photos of the views that you see from the bugyal or relax for a while. After resting, recommence descending through the Himalayas to Wan. The hike from Bhagwabasa to Wan will take around 6.5 hours and after you reach the village, board a vehicle and drive to Loharjung.
Day 08 - Loharjung - Kathgodam
This is the end of your trekking excursion, but not of your amazing journey. Even as you drive from Loharjung to Kathgodam for the onward journey back home, you will encounter amazing views on the way.
